The West Africa School of Heart and Vascular Ultrasound (WASHVU) was established in April, 2017 by Dr. Shayibu Harruna and supported by Dr. Moro Salifu at the Association of Ghana/Turkish Trained Ghanian Professional. The West Africa School of Heart and Vascular Ultrasound is the first school of its kind in Africa. The school provides in-class instruction at our new classroom located in Tamale, Ghana and online lectures combined with clinical experience in cardiac and vascular ultrasound. The primary goal of the school is to graduate well-trained and highly skilled cardiovascular sonographers who will deliver high quality care to each patient they serve. An emphasis during the training is to provide the necessary knowledge to successfully challenge the CCI national board exam..
WASHVU ONLINE CME COURSES
The West Africa School of Heart and Vascular Ultrasound (WASHVU) is now beginning to offer self-instructional online CME courses. WASHVU is currently offering five CME courses: Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation (5 CME), Cardiac Anatomy (2 CME) ,Cardiac Physiology (1 CME), Cardiac Embryology & Fetal Circulation (1 CME) and Cardiac Physiology Part 2 (1 CME). Additional online CME courses will be offered soon and our website will be updated when new courses are approved for CME.
